As an educator and as a parent I want my child to be extremely happy and successful! In fact, most parents desire this as well. When I raised my step daughter, what I wanted most, was for her to acquire good survival skills; to become self-sustaining and efficient at whatever she chose to do personally and professionally. I taught her many things. I was able to share many experiences that increased her personal asset inventory, of which today have benefited her in her growth journey.
As a parent, ask yourself what do you want to teach your child? Are you preparing your child to be competitive and to survive in todays’ fast paced, ever changing world? One suggestion I have for you as a parent is to consider – – slowing down. Be a learner yourself. By this I mean listen more and learn from your child. Observe their actions. One such observation has to do with, what I feel.This is a key success strategy in enabling your child to acquire—leadership. Should your child be interested in becoming a community leader, a corporate CEO, or becoming the captain of sports team, it’s all good! What’s most important however, is for your child to learn how to take control of their life and position it to secure goodness in the present and in his or her future.
Leadership is one of those qualities that every child should experience. It’s one that most companies are seeking in the people they hire. Leadership is one of the many qualities parents should foster and encourage their children to acquire and experience as often as possible. There are several qualities that make certain leaders great. Here are a few where you as a parent can help your child to acquire and foster the leadership qualities within them.
